Amarone “Monte Lodoletta” is a fine Italian wine from Valpolicella produced by Romano Dal Forno. It is a red wine of great elegance and complexity that purely reflects its terroir. The very long aging period in barriques allows the wine to achieve a harmony and expressive balance of extraordinary elegance and finesse. The 2010 Amarone della Valpolicella “Monte Lodoletta” is made from a blend of grapes traditionally grown in this beautiful hilly area: Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara. Harvest takes place only when the grapes are perfectly ripe, and they are then dried for approximately four months in a drying room. The wine ages for at least 60 months in barriques before being bottled and displays a beautiful dark ruby red color. On the nose, it expresses an elegant bouquet of ripe red fruit, cherry, plum, licorice, sweet spices, and notes of bitter cocoa and chocolate. The palate is broad and enveloping, with dense aromas and silky tannins, and a very long finish. Romano Dal Forno's wines are a benchmark and a beacon for the entire Valpolicella region.
