Voerzio Martini's 2016 Barolo is a red wine produced in the Langhe region of Piedmont using exclusively Nebbiolo grapes grown on limestone-clay soils. The hand-harvested grapes undergo temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks, followed by maceration on the skins to extract color and tannins. The wine ages for 24 months in French oak barriques, followed by an additional 12 months in large barrels and 24 months in bottle before release. In the glass, it displays a pale ruby red color verging on garnet. On the nose, it reveals an intense and mellow aroma with notes of ripe fruit, red flowers, and undergrowth. On the palate, it is intense, dry, soft, and tannic, with a balanced structure and a long finish.
