The Chablis "Saint Pierre" is a Chardonnay characterized by a deep minerality and a finish with delightful brioche notes. Medium-bodied and structured, it offers a beautifully fresh and intense palate, with a bouquet of exotic fruits that ensure smoothness and elegance. The Chablis "Saint Pierre" by Albert Pic is a minerally white wine with great potential, produced in the Chablis area, the northernmost part of the Burgundy region of France. In this area, the continental climate, combined with wide temperature variations and the unique characteristics of the soils—rich in marl and clayey limestone, with a subsoil containing marine fossils dating back over 145 million years—give these wines a distinctive mineral character. The "Saint Pierre" is made from 100% Chardonnay grapes grown on spurred cordon vines located on the right bank of the Serein River. The winery, founded in 1755, is the oldest in this region and is now owned by Baron Patrick de Ladoucette. Thanks to constant work in the vineyard and the selection of the best clones, Albert Pic has managed to maintain a strong connection to the terroir, giving all its wines great typicity and expressiveness. The “Saint Pierre” Chablis is made from grapes harvested exclusively by hand and carefully selected both in the vineyard and in the cellar. The bunches brought to the cellar are destemmed, crushed, and gently pressed to separate the pulp from the skins. At this point, the winery's precise desire to characterize its products by highlighting the terroir led to the decision to carry out alcoholic fermentation for this Chablis exclusively in neutral steel or concrete containers, as well as the subsequent aging, to preserve its vibrant, almost lively freshness. The Albert Pic “Saint Pierre” Chablis presents itself with a very bright straw yellow color. The nose opens with aromas of fresh fruit, including white peach and green apple, exotic fruit, floral and citrus notes, then opens up to hints of iodine and notes of brioche. On the palate, it is pleasant and well-structured, with a well-balanced body and a remarkable freshness that characterizes the finish.
