Turriga Argiolas is a magnificent red wine, the perfect synthesis of the Nuraghi region captured in a single bottle. An icon among Italian wines and a prestigious wine from the Argiolas winery, Turriga stands out for its elegance, richness, class, and balance, making it a powerful symbol of Sardinia. This is thanks in part to the care and attention to tradition and the expert touch of Giacomo Tachis, a renowned winemaker who has created some of Italy's finest wines. Turriga is produced exclusively with native grape varieties, predominantly Cannonau, and a blend of Carignano, Bovale, and Malvasia Nera. Its ancient vines grow on moderately calcareous soils, located approximately 230 meters above sea level, where the mild Mediterranean climate favors the grapes' growth. The harvest begins toward the end of November. The harvested grapes are meticulously selected before fermentation, leaving the juice to macerate on its skins for 16-18 months. Aging takes place in new French oak barriques for 18-24 months, and finally, the wine is bottled after a further 12-14 months. Turriga Argiolas is undoubtedly a majestic red, revealing an intense ruby red in the glass. On the nose, it unleashes a seductive bouquet, both complex and balanced, offering evolving aromas of berries, jam, and Mediterranean aromatic herbs, finishing with toasted notes of cocoa and coffee beans. The palate lives up to its reputation, with a rich, full-bodied, well-structured, elegant palate and a fine, persistent finish. A satisfying and classy wine.
