Giscours wines are concentrated, generous, and rich, with well-integrated tannins. Particularly seductive when young, they have the potential to age for several years in good vintages. FUN FACT: The vineyard's soil consists of gravel on a sandy-gravelly subsoil. The creation of a lake near the château has improved soil drainage. The exceptional terroir benefits from all the factors necessary for the production of high-quality wines: good orientation, very warm soil in spring, root permeability, fertility, and regulated water supply in summer. After family and financial difficulties, the property was acquired by Dutch businessman Eric Albada-Jelgersma in 1995. Since then, under the management of the passionate Alexander Van Beek, who has accomplished enormous work both in the vineyards and in the cellar, the château has been restored to its former splendor.
