Vigna Mossino is located in the heart of the Valgella subzone, in the municipality of Teglio, where Alfio Mozzi cultivates his vines on traditional dry-stone terraces between 450 and 600 meters above sea level. The southeast exposure and sandy, skeletal soils, resulting from the disintegration of granite and moraine rocks, ensure perfect drainage and a slow, complete ripening of the grapes. The dry, breezy Alpine microclimate, with significant temperature variations, favors the aromatic concentration and natural freshness of mountain Nebbiolo, here at its most authentic and minerally. Winemaking: Hand-picked with selection of the finest bunches. Traditional fermentation in stainless steel at a controlled temperature, with maceration for approximately 18 days and gentle pumping over. Aged for 18 months in medium-sized oak barrels and subsequently aged for 6–8 months in bottle. Appearance: Brilliant ruby red with garnet highlights. Nose: Fine and complex, with elegant notes of cherry, raspberry, wild rose, and violet, accompanied by hints of sweet spices, blond tobacco, and light mineral nuances. Palate: Balanced and harmonious, with silky tannins and lively acidity. The palate is fresh, long, and dynamic, with a savory and mineral finish that perfectly reflects the Valtellina terroir.
